The Behavior Doctor: Positive Interventions and Effective Strategies: Provides proactive strategies and solutions for behaviors that adults wish to target for change in either their children or the students that they teach.

Educational Rights and Responsibilities: Understanding Special Education in Illinois [2009]:  This guide is for parents, teachers, administrators, and others to learn about the educational rights of children who have disabilities and receive special education and related services.  The English version has been revised to incorporate the changes made to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 and the Illinois special education rules and regulations which became effective on June 28, 2007.  The revised Spanish version is still under development.

Healthcare for All Kids:  Illinois is one of the first states to provide affordable, comprehensive health insurance for every child.

Illinois Autism Training & Technical Assistance Project [IATTAP]:  There is an IATTAP office located in Lombard.  This stie offers a variety of resources related to Pervasive Developmental Disorders such as Autism, Asperger's syndrome. and Rett's Syndrome Childhood Disintegrative Disorders.

Literacy Information and Communication System [LINCS]:  The Partnership for Reading was a collaborative effort by three federal agencies to bring the findings of evidence-based reading research to the educational community, families, and others with an interest in helping all people learn to read well.  LINCS now has archives of these free pubications on reading in the areas of early childhood, childhood (K-3), adolescent, and adult.  They also have a variety of other publications of interest.

National Alliance on Mental Illness [NAMI] DuPage County:  NAMI DuPage is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a nationwide mental health advocacy organization dedicated to improving the quality of lives of people affected by mental illnesses.  One of the largest and most innovative of 1,200 in the country and 41 in Illinois, NAMI DuPage provides services and programs that offer relief, resources and importantly - hope for recovery - to individuals and families alike.  For more information, either click on the link [National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Dupage County, or call 1.630.752.0066.
