Fostering Communication and Readiness for Learning

Monarch Academy provides a highly structured and supportive environment for elementary students with complex communication and sensory needs.

About Us

Monarch Academy serves elementary age students from our member districts, typically with a primary eligibility of Autism. The program is designed to meet the academic, social emotional and functional needs of students who can be described as complex communicators and may present with challenging behaviors due to communication and intensive sensory needs.

It is a highly structured, consistent and intensive instructional program with embedded related services, evidence based teaching methods and robust visual supports.

The primary goal of Monarch Academy is to target skills that will lead to students being ready to learn. This will allow students to successfully return to their home schools.

Our Program

Our program is built on a foundation of structure, consistency, and intensity. We utilize evidence-based teaching methods and robust visual supports to create an optimal learning environment.

Related services are seamlessly embedded into the daily routine, ensuring students receive comprehensive support throughout their day. Our focus is always on developing the core skills necessary for students to thrive academically and socially, preparing them for a successful transition back to their home schools.

Academics and Curriculum

Curriculum is selected to meet the diverse needs of the students we serve and implemented with fidelity to ensure academic progress. Curriculum resources are considered and managed by the Program Coordinator in collaboration with the teaching and therapy staff.

Curriculum design begins with state standards and includes specially designed instructional plans for specific students.

In addition to academic standards, functional and life skills are an important component of the program.
