CASE provides Extended School Year (ESY) to students in its six elementary school districts. All students who are eligible for this service are invited to attend at one central location each summer. Academic, functional, transition and social-emotional goals addressed during ESY are selected by the student’s IEP team. Students are grouped together for instruction based on age and identified needs and goals selected for maintenance and support. Related services including speech, social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, transportation, and nursing care are offered as part of ESY services. ESY has traditionally been a half-day program offered mid-June through mid-July.
Student applications for ESY are provided to families through classroom teachers and/or students’ case managers and are available at the beginning of March. When CASE receives the application, parents/guardians are notified and sent a confirmation of enrollment. Parents/guardians needing additional information can contact their child’s case manager. Individuals who are interested in working in the CASE ESY program can locate additional information on the “Work With Us” section of the CASE website after February 1st.
Teacher and Staff Information will be posted here when available for the upcoming summer.
