CASE is committed to supporting the development of pre-service education professionals. CASE partners with local colleges and universities to foster high quality student teachers, interns and administrators. CASE has a variety of classrooms in which student teachers can learn specific pedagogy for teaching students with disabilities. These experiences include but are not limited to: adaptive instruction, behavioral skill support, modified instruction, environmental modification, inclusion support and generalization of skills. Student teachers will be placed with an experienced professional who has a strong background in working with students with disabilities. Internships with our therapists, psychologists and social workers include providing services in a variety of settings to a broad cross section of students. CASE staff will model, collaborate and reflect with the student teachers and interns so that they can grow to become outstanding special education professionals. Current and past partners include:

  • Rosalind Franklin University
  • Illinois State University
  • Midwestern University
  • Elmhurst College
  • Northwestern University
  • Northern Illinois University
